When facing a life-changing event such as a cancer diagnosis, it’s especially important to know that you or your loved one can find support in the journey ahead.

That’s where the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation can help. As the philanthropic arm of Novant Health, we raise awareness about and funding for initiatives throughout the greater Charlotte region.

Fundraising supports building new facilities and renovating existing ones, medical equipment purchases, assistance for those in need, wellness programs for the community and continuing education for staff.

The Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation’s current priority is the GroundBreaking campaign. Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center will soon launch our most ambitious project to date: A seven-story, multidisciplinary outpatient facility that provides focused care for cancer and heart disease patients — all under one roof. The John M. and Claudia W. Belk Heart & Vascular Institute and The Edward I. and Agnes B. Weisiger Cancer Institute will function as an outpatient clinical hub targeting our nation’s two leading killers.

Heart and cancer patients will find enhanced patient-centered care, improved accessibility, increased affordability and coordination among caregivers. Our integrated institute will allow for natural collaboration between heart and oncology physicians.

Institute services and amenities will include:

• Cardiac prevention and screening
• Dedicated urgent care services
• A cardio-oncology team
• A 60+ bay infusion center
• Integrated medical services
• Cardiac and cancer nurse navigators
• Pediatric cardiology
• Cardiothoracic surgery
• Sky bridge access to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, which will enhance the overall continuity of patient care

In addition to the GroundBreaking campaign, Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation manages over 170 individual funds that support our medical service lines throughout the greater Charlotte region. More than 40 of those funds are dedicated to supporting cancer patients and programs.

Funds go toward a range of efforts, from supporting our mobile mammography unit to enhancing pediatric oncology and hematology care, to uplifting patients at the Novant Health Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center, and other initiatives.
